October 2004

OCT 1ST-7TH

October 1st brings us clear skys and calm seas as well as our good buddy George Santangelo and Mike. Bottom fishing today produced alot of action for us but not much payoff. We managed to get to nice amber jacks to the boat but everything else we caught was quickly stolen from us by a hungry shark. That night we set out on a Swordfishing Trip with Dave and Gary and their friends Sean and Brett. What a night we landed a 100lb Swordy and a hammerhead that must have been close to 200lbs. Yeah Baby!! On the third we fished out of Boca inlet with Chris, Kristen and Miguel. It was a great day for king fish, with our tally up at fourteen but not much else bit. The kings continued to bite well the next day for Mike McCandless as well as a few spanish mackeral to boot. On the 7th Chip and Brandon came out with us and after quickly catching their limit of kings and a spanish mackeral we decided to go off shore hunting for dolphin. Good idea, lots of knockdowns and five mahi later we were ready to head in.

8th-14th

Took out Nel in the morning Friday for some snapper action-lots of B-Liners-also caught bunches of king mackerel. In the afternoon it was kings and dolphin for our friends at the Boca Resort. Saturday Sanders came out for more B-liners and some kings. Monday brought John Casey out for a Sailfish and some king mackerel. Tuesday cancelled due to weather. Wednesday Clark Coleman came out for the whole day and got his limit of kings some cero mackerel and a bunch of bonitos. On thursday the 14th we went to the resort to pick up a couple of trips and caught our limit of kings and some dolphin.

15-21st Some Sailfish Are Here!

Its that time of year and the sailfish are starting to bite. We had a little generator work keep us on the dock a couple of days but got out and fished on Saturday with the boys up north. Off Boca Raton we caught a bunch of dolphin. Afterwards we went back out and caught a couple of sails with Michael and a couple of kikings too-nice! On the 18th we took bobby, Jack, Tom and Pete out for some Dolphin, King Mackerel, and a funky lizardfish.

OCT 21-31 HALLOWEEN WEEK

On Saturday the 23rd Scott Tudor had a good time catching king fish but we were unable to find the elusive sail fish he really wanted. Better luck next time Scott. The full moon over the weekend produced some good fishing for the entire rest of the week. On Tuesday Paul and Brooke along with Kiva, Dan, Mike and Milton caught a wide variety of fish including kings wahoo tuna and mahi, nice job! However, don't think that the full moon just affect fish that eat on the surface, it really turns on the bottom bite as well. At the end of the week, Rick and his buddies managed to catch two Snowy Groupers one of which weighed in at 46 lbs, thats as big as they come, also, a very impressive 5lb vermillion snapper as well as three mahi two of which were over 20lbs. What a really great trip they had. Finally, on our afternoon trip, we fished live Bonitas to produce a tournament winning king mackeral, Allright!!
