July 2004

1-7th

On the 1st we caught a bunch of king mackerel and more bonito than we knew what to do with for Dave Brodhacker and crew. Then we Tommy and David out to catch their limit of kings and an awsome size cuda-its gonna look good on their fireplace! We also caught them a nice reef shark. In the afternoon we went back to the same spot and caught a Bull shark for Ed and Pam. Kingfish also cooperated. On the fourth the fishing was slow on the reef in the morning but we caught a few fish for Sabine and her kids. In the afternoon we ran offshore with our guests from boca resort and caught some nice mahi mahi. Since they had no place to cook them Rob and I got to eat some fresh fish. The 5th had great action on the reef-kings and bonitos again. Wednesday the 7th found fishing tough. The barracudas were biting good and our morning trip had some fun with them. In the afternoon we caught some nice fish on the bottom including grouper and snapper as well as a couple of kings trolling.

8th- 14th

The second week of July started out strong fishing out on the reef with big kings and barracudas bringing alot of action! After catching a boat load of kings for Dave Fernandez's group on the 10th we decided to go for the big one and set up for shark fishing. Soon after we got our bite and landed a monstrous 85" Bull Shark. We needed help from everyone on the boat to finally hoist that one onto the dock! We rounded the week up on an all day with Tim Fausnight and company catching kings and bonitos but none of the mahi they were looking for, at least they had a good time.

15th-27th Vacation!!!

Up in NJ with the family we caught some nice flatties off the dock and in the bay. Lots O' fun.

The rest of July

Some nice grouper have been around this week on the deep wrecks. On the 28th we caught Greg Sipple some giant king mackerel and some bonitos. On the 29th we caught the Fiordimondos a huge thresher shark and some yellow tail snapper. We also caught some kingfish using live ballyhoo as bait. On the 30th Mike Whitelaw and family came out and had fun filling the box with bonitos before tring to catch something bigger. Low and behold a giant Golden Amberjack jumped on our bait for a great fight. In the afternoon we took some dentists out from the resort and caught dolphin, king macks, bonitos and some cudas. Joe York fished with us Saturday to end the month. We needed to catch something big and only got little ones, I look forward to making up for that when you return in September Joe.
