AUG 1ST-6TH HOT HOT HOT

Thats the weather I'm referring too in the title. Record heat waves have been blanketing the country, and south Florida, believe it or not, has been the place to go to cool off. With the mid day temps reaching 93f* it helps to run out fishing where one can expect a slight break in the temperature. On a good day, as much as a ten degree swing can be found. The warm air also coincides with warm water and that brings mahi. While the mahi bite is slowing down due to the lateness of the season, there are still some big fish out there. The average size of the dolphin we've caught this week has been 20 lbs! On the reef, there have also been some big sharks lurking around for those brave enough to look for them. Next week, with the onset of the full moon, I expect to see alot of big grouper showing up with that action lasting through November. The bite will be the best during each of the full moons and for a few days after but should remain strong till December when our attention focuses on sailfish. August and September are great months when the hurricanes leave us alone so book now fishing is HOT HOT HOT!!

August 7th-13th

We knew there would be giant grouper out there but we didn't know just how big until Monday when we landed a three hundred pund Goliath Grouper while shark fishing. It took our angler, Eric, two hours to land that fish. What a fight! Towards the end of the week we had Bob and his buddys out for a bachelor party just before he took the big plunge. They had a great trip trolling, landing a dozen kings, four bonitos, two barracudas and two golden amber jacks. Its a busy August so book early, and while your at it book often.

August 14th-20th

Good fishing continues with lots of Bonito and Mahi- Mahi action all week long!

The Rest of the Month!

Fishing is Red HOT for the king mackerel and Bonitos in 80-130 feet of water. A couple of sharks are still around near the reef structure like shallow wrecks and the poop hole. On saturday we dropped a live frigate mackerel on a deep wreck and caught an 85 LB Warsaw Grouper- WOW/HUGE/DELICIOUS Fun time of year for sure!
